"Hey guys, this is the first teaser for my upcoming fragmovie called "HYPER" and I'd like to share my thoughts to this little clip and try to explain you some ideas. At first: I know that moviemakers often produce teasers and trailers before they start to work on the final movie - that's horrible. This project is already well advanced - I guess somewhere next to 60-70%...no bullshit. So the full movie will be released wihtin the next 3 months. Why does it take so long? Very simple; I'm playing in the german ESL ProSeries league and I need to pracctice with my team. Apart from this I like to do some sports in my freetime - so I can't work all the time on my movie. Quality depends so much on motivation and I'd like to release a solid movie - that's the answer.
Anyways...back to topic; I really can't see anymore the f*cking fragmovies with thousands of these "bling bling effects" and campaths from every corner of the map. What happened to the classic fragmovies? I've decided to produce something that highlights the frags and not anything else. So the final movie will have the style of the "UNDERGROUND"-series, but of course with better quality, a better cut and much more FPS. The full movie will show you some of my best frags from the last years, but not the usual funwar shit! All my frags were done in PCWs or official Matches against good players and teams. Unfortunately the most opponents didn't use clantags or their real nicks, so you have to believe me. Maybe I will name the teams in the credits to prevent flames...dunno, but I guarantee you some really sick headshots! NOTE: I didn't want to show you the best frags in this teaser, so I used "average" scenes of my highlights or just parts of the fragscenes. I want to offset the "wow-effect" for the final movie.
I'm a big fan of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez (except SPY KIDS) and I had the desire to make a movie in the old GRINDHOUSE-style of "MACHETE", "Planet Terror" etc. Finally I've started the project three or four times, because I didn't like the music or the cut or something else. So I decided to use the GRINDHOUSE/MACHETE-style just for a trailer and make the full movie in a other way. I had so many ideas for this teaser, but I just realize a couple of them - let's start:
At first I tried to copy the "MACHETE" title and individualize it with my own nickname. I've done it in photoshop with the original font, which was a huge challenge for me, because I'm a total noob in this program. It doesn't look perfect, but it's fine and should be good enough for a short teaser. The second problem was the "voiceover" for the text. I've recorded my own voice and tried to improve it with diffrent soundtools. I hope it sounds halfway authentic to the original speaker - finally the result satisfied me. I was thinking a lot about good text passages, but I didn't want to overstate - so I've chosen "NO F*CKING EFFECTS" and "YOU CAN EXPECT FRAGS, FRAGS AND EVEN MORE FRAGS" to support my intentions for the final movie. It sounds a bit funny, not too aggressive and it doesn't spam the whole teaser with text - perfect. Then I experiment with diffrent colorstyles for the GRINDHOUSE theme. I really tried to copy the dark grainy look of the GRINDHOUSE movies, but they eaten so much quality, that I decided to cancel this idea. The testclips just look terrible and the grainy/scratchy-effects were absolutely annoying after 30 seconds. So this are more or less the final colorsettings from the full movie - clean, bright and close to the original colors. Maybe I'll improve them a bit, but you should get a first foretaste.
